Privacy notice
Last updated September 2026
The Health Journal is operated by Luke Brown (the "controller" for the purposes of UK GDPR). This notice explains what we collect when you use the site and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Newsletter sign-ups. Your email address, so we can send you the newsletter. Legal basis: consent. You can unsubscribe using the link in any email.
- Emails you send us. Your address and whatever you write, kept for as long as needed to deal with your message. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
We don't sell your information and we don't share it with advertisers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers; Google's own privacy policy applies to that request.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies. If we add analytics or an email sign-up form provided by a third party, we'll update this notice and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Email info@thehealthjournaluk.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Links to other sites
Articles and reviews link to other websites, including retailers. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we're not responsible for them.
