About the Journal
Plain-English health writing for the UK
The Health Journal exists because most health writing is either too vague to act on or too technical to read. We sit in the middle: nutritionists explaining what the labels and the studies actually say, in the language you'd use with a friend.
We cover four areas — energy, sleep, nutrition and gut health — plus reviews of products people actually buy. We're most interested in the gap between what a product claims and what's in the pack: the doses, the forms, and whether the evidence behind them holds up.
Who writes it
Articles are written by nutritionists and edited before publication. Every piece carries the writer's name and the date it was published.

How the Journal is run
The Health Journal is published in the UK and operated by Luke Brown. It is free to read and does not carry display advertising. Some reviews link directly to products; how products are chosen and scored, and how the site is funded, is set out in our editorial standards.
